Effective Date: March 12, 2026
The Robin Film Grant is presented by MusicAtlas in partnership with Greenlit. The program is intended to support independent filmmakers by helping them discover and license music for their projects using the Robin music discovery platform.
One selected project will receive $1,000 USD toward music licensing for use in the recipientβs film. Participation in the Robin Film Grant constitutes acceptance of the terms outlined below.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally able to enter into agreements required to license music. Applicants must be actively working on a film or audiovisual project that intends to use licensed music.
Eligible project types include narrative films, documentaries, short films, student films, and independent film projects in development, production, or post-production.
Employees or contractors of MusicAtlas or Greenlit are not eligible to apply.
To submit a completed application, applicants must provide basic details about their project, use the Robin platform to explore music for their film, save at least 20 tracks while exploring music for their project, and provide a short description explaining how music may be used in the film.
Saving tracks during the application process is intended only to demonstrate how applicants discover and consider music for their projects. Saving tracks does not constitute licensing or permission to use any music.
Applications for the Robin Film Grant are accepted only during the official application window announced on the grant website.
For the 2026 cycle, applications open on April 1, 2026 and close on May 15, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline may not be considered.
MusicAtlas reserves the right to adjust the application timeline if necessary.
Applications may be reviewed by MusicAtlas and selected industry advisors. Projects may be evaluated based on factors including project quality, clarity of the filmmakerβs vision, thoughtful use of music within the project, and engagement with music discovery using Robin.
One recipient will be selected at the discretion of MusicAtlas. All selection decisions are final.
